PMCA primary function is to provide liability risk reduction ideas for healthcare management consultants, compliance consultants and practice brokers. This information has been developed by the Association’s liability insurance company. Reviews of the causes of claims made against PMCA members has provided us with communication techniques that will clear any misunderstandings with the responsibilities you assume when providing services to clients.
Engagement letters, descriptions of services you intend to provide and the responsibilities of those engaging your firm help to eliminate any confusion. By having documented evidence that you clearly explained the service you provide greatly reduce your chances of having liability claims made against your firm. Samples are available to you as a part of your membership.
The Association also offers risk management seminars at meetings of sponsoring organizations. Our presentations offer firsthand knowledge of the problems that have occurred in the practice of consulting. Question and answer periods allow for the sharing of ideas. The problems faced by fellow consultants provide an excellent forum for you to employ techniques that will reduce your risk.
